Kristin Siegfried Ballenger is an award winning violin maker and restorer. She is a graduate of and former instructor at the Chicago School of Violin Making and holds a music degree from Illinois Wesleyan University. While still in school she started work at Seman Violins, where she continued after graduation. In 2019, she began as an instructor at the Chicago School of Violin Making with Antoine Nedelec. She has recently moved to Boston and focuses on new making along with her work at Reuning & Son Violins.
Kristin has been a participant in the Oberlin Violin Makers and Restoration workshops, where she continues to pursue new techniques while continually refining her craft. She is currently the Vice President of the Violin Society of Amerca and has been on the Board of Directors since 2018.
